Outsourced Fleet Management for UK Businesses
A UK outsourced fleet management provider running the administration, compliance and maintenance behind fleets of roughly 20 to 500 vehicles, so your team can focus on the business.
We manage van fleets for UK companies as their external fleet department, running servicing, compliance, breakdowns and suppliers so your vans stay working.
Get a QuoteWe manage van fleets for UK companies as their external fleet department. Not software for your team to operate, but people who run the vans: booking the servicing, chasing the garages, checking the compliance, sorting the breakdowns and dealing with the suppliers, so your drivers stay working and your managers stop firefighting.
Most of the van fleets we look after run between 20 and 500 vehicles, often mixed with a few pickups, tippers or pool cars, spread across sites or driven by people working from home.
A fleet of company cars and a fleet of working vans are not the same job, and anyone pricing or managing them the same way has not run one. Vans are harder for reasons that compound:
The result is a fleet that generates far more day-to-day work per vehicle than its size suggests, which is exactly the workload we take on.
We take on as much or as little as you need, from administration only to the full outsourced fleet management service:
With a van fleet, availability is the number that matters. We work the problem from both ends: reducing the unplanned failures, and shortening the time a van is off the road when something does go wrong.
That means servicing booked around the working day rather than against it, mobile tyre fitting and mobile servicing that come to the van instead of the van coming to a garage, nationwide recovery when a driver is stranded, and glass repair that does not write off a day. Where a van has to be off the road for longer, we arrange a replacement so the work still gets done.
Because we are already managing the fleet, we know which van belongs to which driver, what is fitted to it and what the job needs, so the replacement is useful rather than just available.
What is inside a van is often worth more than the van, and it is the part most fleet providers ignore. We arrange the practical things that protect it and keep the vehicle fit for the work:
Van fleets tend to belong to businesses whose people go to the work rather than the work coming to them. We manage them across construction, engineering, facilities management, telecoms, utilities, housing and healthcare.
The vehicles differ, but the problem is the same: a fleet that has grown past the point where someone can look after it alongside their real job, and a business that does not want to build a fleet department to solve it.
We have managed fleets across the UK since 2017 from our base in Chesterfield, and currently look after more than 2,000 vehicles. The difference is what we actually do:
Van fleet management is the day-to-day running of a company’s vans: servicing, MOTs, repairs, compliance, driver checks, breakdowns and supplier coordination. Outsourcing it means an external team does that work and reports back, rather than your own staff absorbing it alongside their jobs.
Vans generally do higher mileages under heavier loads, so they wear consumables faster and suffer more unplanned repair. Their drivers are usually field-based and harder to reach, the vehicles often carry valuable tools, and they are frequently fitted out for a specific job, which makes them harder to replace at short notice.
We work best with fleets of roughly 20 to 500 vehicles, and we support businesses above and below that. Below around 20 vans the administration is often still manageable in-house; beyond it, the work tends to outgrow whoever inherited it.
Yes. Most of the fleets we run are mixed, typically vans alongside pickups, tippers, pool cars or specialist vehicles.
Yes. Where a van will be off the road long enough to affect the work, we arrange a replacement suited to the job rather than whatever happens to be available.
No. We can work with your existing suppliers or use our national network, whichever gives you the better result on cost and turnaround.
You remain the keeper of the vehicles, and where an operator licence applies the legal duties stay with the licence holder and transport manager. We run the systems, scheduling and records behind those duties and flag anything needing your decision. The legal responsibility stays where the law places it. The day-to-day management and agreed operational decisions can sit with us.
There is no standard per-van price, because two fleets of the same size can generate very different workloads. We explain the factors in full on our page covering how outsourced fleet management pricing works.
